What we collect when you use the ‘My Business Compass Companion” app

What My Business Compass stores about you

When you set up your Compass we store your email address and first name, your business name, the business community sector you chose, and the challenges you told us matter most to you. We also store which area you're focused on, your plan, and whether you asked to receive the Weekly Compass and when.

As you use the app, we store what you write in it: the next steps you set and whether you've done them, your rhythm plan and weekly notes, and your reflections.

Your reflections are the most personal thing in the app, and they're treated that way. They are never shown to other members. They are never included in any cohort, council or partner report. They are never sent to our email system or our payment provider.

Where your information is stored

Where your information is stored

Our database is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Seoul, South Korea. There is currently no Australian hosting region available for the platform the app is built on. Your information is stored securely there and is not sold, rented or shared for marketing by anyone else.

Some of the services we rely on are based overseas and may store information outside Australia. By using the app you consent to your information being handled this way.

Who else touches your information

The services we use

Service

What it receives

Our hosting platform

Runs the app and stores your information. Also receives technical error reports if something breaks, which can include the page you were on

Stripe

Your email address and payment details, if you subscribe. We never see or store your card number

Kajabi

Your email address, first name, your sector and your plan — so we can send you the emails you asked for and know which members are which. Your reflections are never sent to Kajabi

We use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, nothing that follows you around. The only usage information we keep is a count of how many people reached our upgrade screen, and that stays in our own database.

Who can see your reflections — the honest version

Who can see what you write

This space is yours. What you write here is never shown to other members, never included in any cohort or partner report, and never sent to our email system or our payment provider. We can only access it to keep the app running or fix a fault.

Your rights

Your information is yours

You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it. Email us and we'll do it.
